Selection Procedure for SBI PO 2023
The SBI PO recruitment exam is the most prestigious among India’s public-sector bank exams. It is regarded as slightly more tough than the IBPS bank entrance tests. SBI’s recruitment process for Probationary Officers is divided into three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Group Discussion/Interview
Important Information Regarding SBI PO Recruitment 2023
Candidates should bear the following aspects in mind during the SBI PO selection process:
- Biometric Verification: To provide an error-free and secure selection procedure for SBI PO 2023, the bank may digitally capture the candidate’s thumb impression. This is done to ensure that the candidates are legitimate. Any contradiction in biometric verification will result in the candidate’s rejection and punitive legal action. Candidates are thus encouraged not to use any external stuff on their hands, such as ink, Mehandi, chemicals, and so on.
- Number of Attempts: Each category has a maximum number of attempts. Candidates who have exhausted all of their opportunities are ineligible to apply. Participating in the Preliminary Exam does not qualify as an attempt, however, participating in the Mains Exam does.
Category | Number of Chances |
---|---|
General/ EWS | 4 |
General/ EWS (PWD) | 7 |
OBC/ OBC(PWD) | 7 |
SC/SC(PWD)/ST/ST(PWD) | No restriction |
SBI PO 2023 Exam Pattern
The SBI PO selection procedure is divided into three sections. The written exams are administered online, followed by an interview round. Exams are organised as follows:
Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination
This is an online exam in which applicants must complete the question paper in one hour for 100 points. A 14-point deduction will be applied for each wrong answer. The exam is divided into three portions. Candidates should be aware that the sectoral cut-off in the Preliminary Exam has been removed, and that the overall score of all sections will be used to determine advancement to the next round. The Bank determines the cut-off or minimal passing marks for each section each year based on the difficulty of the test. The marks are divided into sections as follows:
